When we talk about grow lights you often hear people tell you they have an x watt light.
It can be anything from 200 - 1000 watt or more, but what does that mean?
Watt is the power used to drive the light and depending of the brand, type and other factors, this power gets converted and/or lost.
This is why a 300 Watt LED light can produce as much light as a higher Watt HPS light.
The more red light is produced the bigger your plant will become. This sounds like it is all you need right?
But indoors this becomes a problem, as even short and chubby Indica plants will get too tall.
Adding some blue light to counteract the red, provides good root growth and a big lush plant above the medium.
We recommend looking at the spectrum of produced light from any brand and make sure there is a lot of red and blue.
Many lights on amazon look purple, and that is what you get when you mix red and blue.
However it can be hard to see if your plant is getting burned or have other kinds of problems, that is why a LED light that is close to white, slightly more red with some blue is the perfect candidate.
